Designed and produced for me by Tenkara Tanuki, this very limited edition Pocket Ninja Tenkara rod with Golden Trout Graphics on the handle design (Custom artwork by my daughter, Jessica Burr)

Rod is based on the Tenkara Tanuki Pocket Ninja Headwaters 240 rod. Excellent for headwater streams and other very technical waters. 7’10” total length, action is beautiful for delicate presentations but will handle large fish with ease. The rod bends on a 10″/25cm fish and feels like you have a trophy on. Small streams have a lot of overhanging branches and undercut banks… This rod has just enough backbone to control the fish to prevent it from digging into hiding. It is a casting rod and helps to deliver your fly into a tight spot.

My preference is to fish a dry fly 90% of the time, the GTD rod allows for perfect presentation of dries to the most difficult of trout under any conditions. Here are some Golden Trout caught with my prototype GTD rod.
